Escape the winter weather with heartwarming fare over an inviting tabletop.

Inspired by the gentle snowfall and bare trees that mark the season, a table bedecked in creams, blues, and browns gathers friends for a delightful midday repast. A delicate chocolate brown design surrounds the rim of Wedgwood’s Plymouth dinner plate, complementing the slate blue and tan floral detail of Royal Doulton’s Old Colony luncheon plate. Wood-handle flatware, a neutral knotted-edge napkin, and ice-blue goblets complete the wintry look.

Accents and details tie the whole affair together. Atop a blue-and-white floral tablecloth, a collection of linens contributes texture to the table, from lacy runners to gingham and plaid cloths. Stacks of books encourage friends to share their own tales, reminiscing on days gone by.

Enveloped in natural light, a banquette nestled beneath a window is made cozy with plenty of pillows and plush blankets. A cup of tea, soothing candles, and cheerful conversations welcome guests indoors from the brisk wind.

After steeping the last bit of your favorite tea, reuse the tin as a vessel for a centerpiece. White hydrangeas and lisianthus create a bountiful base, while purple-centered calla lilies and waxflowers add height and a soft touch of color. For a duo of arrangements, repurpose a matching teapot as a home to more florals.
