When your home boasts bountiful beautiful views from an abundance of windows, it just makes sense to design a space that draws from nature’s charms—and that’s exactly what Atlanta, Georgia, designer Clary Bosbyshell did in this Haynes Manor neighborhood home, where classic blue hues reign. Woven among the timeless Southern elements Clary is known for, the varying shades walk the line between neutrals and focal tones, appearing in everything from paint to upholstery.
The palette is the perfect backdrop for Clary’s textile choices, which range from modern geometrics to classic florals. Displayed together, the contrasting shapes and styles combine to create a curated spirit throughout the home. In the living room, a textured linen on the sectional and a solid sky-hued coffee table balance bolder choices like the Greek key fabric on the ottoman and the ikat on the spool side chairs.
Repeating fabrics lend continuity to the open-concept layout, demonstrated in the ikat echoed above the kitchen sink—where it offers a counterpoint to the classic marble countertop—and the drapes in the dining room. Doubling as a sunroom and granting access to the patio, the space forgoes a rug in favor of showing off the rich tone of the hardwood. Clary’s signature classic style takes on a contemporary edge in the form of a white pedestal table with a curved midcentury silhouette.
Mixed-and-matched chairs find a common element in fun and functional faux leather. Popping against the more subdued shades, the dishware atop the table boasts a deep cobalt that pulls together several patterns and styles. A woven tray and floral vessel serve as grounding elements, contributing a needed touch of warmth and texture while pulling in the rattan chairs nearby.
When it came to designing the bedrooms, Clary deviated slightly from the established palette with more saturated tones that infuse a contemporary spirit into the personalized spaces, but traditional style still lingers in expertly paired textile choices. And even among bolder hues, nature is celebrated in creative touches like bedside lamps and vibrant fish pillows in the kids’ room. Down to the last detail, the design is the perfect reminder that, sometimes, all the inspiration you need is right outside the window.
