About Studio
TOUZET STUDIO is an award-winning architecture and design studio located in Coral Gables, Florida. The studio is dedicated to finding elegant, sustainable solutions that withstand the test of time and meet the increasing challenges of climate. We believe that the research, design process, and execution of every project should be specific to each site and client.
In an age of globalized design firms, our approach is much more client-centered and site-specific. We craft solutions that draw on the most advanced technologies but are client and community-centered. We draw inspiration from a wide variety of sources for our design. We are futurists who believe in innovation.
We also love and respect history and preserving our collective stories and cultures. We believe in design that connects humans with nature, mindful and sustainable consideration of each material and process. From urban design to bespoke interiors and carefully crafted buildings – each project is carefully designed to meet the client’s needs and withstand engagement over time.
The Studio has been recognized internationally and regionally in press celebrating their innovative design. Touzet Studio consistently is ranked one of the top design firms in Florida. Touzet Studio was recognized as AIA MIAMI Firm of the Year in 2021. Touzet Studio was founded in 2004 in Miami, Florida by Carlos Prio Touzet, AIA, and Jacqueline González Touzet AIA, LEED ap. Both Principals and the Studio have won numerous awards and their work has been published internationally.
On the street, The House is composed of two engaged stone-clad components.
On the Bayside, it has a predominantly crystalline façade.
The home is constructed primarily of glass and cement.
This house’s facade is covered in white paint.
The interiors strike a mix between a warm, neutral color scheme and flashes of vibrant color.
The carpets’ blue and gray hues, as well as the unique lighting fixtures, echo the ocean’s various tones.
With numerous seating options that can hold this many people, the dining space exudes elegance.
This location is white-painted and offers a beautiful outlook.
Terrazzo flooring and unfinished wood were used to give the house a really Florida tropical atmosphere.
The vivid color bursts are reminiscent of the vivid hues found in tropical vegetation.
Touzet Studio drew inspiration from nature- the tropical hammock of Coral Gables and Biscayne Bay beyond. The House transitions from two engaged stone-clad volumes on the street to a primarily crystalline façade on the Bayside. The interiors balance a warm and neutral palette with moments of intense color, utilizing terrazzo floors and natural wood to give the house a very Florida-tropical feeling.
The blues and grey of the carpets and custom light fixtures pick up on the shades of the ocean. The bright bursts of color recall the vibrant colors found in the gardens of the Tropical landscapes. The Furniture layout takes full advantage of the crystalline façade and beautiful bay views while also meeting the Clients programmatic needs.
