C2 recently chose its paint color for 2025, C2 Raku. With so many paint trends favoring saturated and moody colors, we were happy that C2’s paint color 2025 embraces this. So far, it’s one of our favorites.
C2 Raku: An Earthy Red and Brown
The ancient Japanese tea ceremony inspires the C2 Raku shade. Its rich, earthy brown-reddish color comes from Raku pottery, full of variegated patterns, imperfections, and rich texture.
“This rich hue, with its deep cordovan earthy brown hue and sanguine undertones, embodies the art of revitalizing the old with the succession of its renewal—an echo of a timeless classic flourishing in a modern world,” said Philippa Radon, C2 Paint Color Director.
C2 Raku resembles Behr’s 2025 color of the year, Rumors. The biggest difference is that Rumors is slightly more purple with a cooler undertone, while C2 is warmer with a rich reddish brown hue.
A Chameleon Color (Test it First)
According to C2, the lighting in a space will significantly impact how Raku looks. Depending on the natural light available, the color can go from a wine-tinged red to a deep brown. We recommend painting a sample swatch in your room to ensure it looks how you envision before purchasing enough paint for the entire room.
