In the quiet community of Hudson, New York, with the rich hues of autumn on every side, there’s plenty of history to be found—as well as charming shops, delightful dining, and sidewalks designed for relaxing afternoon strolls. If you find yourself exploring these quaint streets, just a short distance away from the main strip you’ll come across an inviting sight.

Large three-story Victorian house with a gray facade and white trim, featuring a prominent central gable and two symmetrical side sections. The home has multiple windows, a covered front porch with steps leading up to a central entrance, and is surrounded by trimmed bushes and a bare tree. The setting suggests a cloudy day.

Formerly a private Queen Anne–style home, the building that now houses The Amelia has entered its second life as a landing pad for visitors to the Hudson Valley, and it boasts all the beauty and history of the area as well as abundant modern comforts.

A cozy and well-decorated bedroom featuring a large bed with a gray and white striped coverlet and a beige throw. There is a prominent window framed by floor-length curtains, offering a view of neighboring buildings and trees. To the right, a blue armchair paired with a small, black floor lamp adds a touch of color to the room. Subtle floral arrangements and a simple, modern design give the space a relaxing atmosphere.

In one of the boutique hotel’s eight rooms, you’ll find a quiet space equipped with everything needed to recharge from a day spent enjoying an upstate New York autumn.

A modern kitchen featuring a narrow layout with bright lighting. On the left, white countertops sit atop white cabinetry, housing a dishwasher, an oven, and a small espresso machine beside neatly stacked dishes. A large blue cabinet on the right reaches almost to the ceiling, filled with various dishes and glass jars, contrasting richly against the white walls. A geometric patterned rug runs along the aisle floor, complementing the clean, contemporary aesthetic. Two high windows provide natural light, enhancing the room's airy feel.

When you find the time to venture from your room, you’ll encounter thoughtful details in each of the community spaces, which weave a sleek contemporary aesthetic among the warmth and elegance of the original architectural features.

A well-lit study with expansive bookshelves filled with books lining the walls, a large round wooden table with a white vase of flowers in the center, surrounded by a patterned area rug, and a comfortable armchair near a window.

Starting with a visit to the well-curated library, spend a tranquil morning over a breakfast of complementary house-made baked goods. Or finish an evening fireside, either in the cozy warmth of the living area or under starlight by the fire pit in the garden.

Despite its many comforts, The Amelia isn’t just designed for private relaxation. Community is an essential part of the experience, and the hotel serves as a meeting space for visitors and locals alike. Enjoy local art, live music, book readings, and more while mingling with people who know what makes the area special.
