For the Senses

With the delightful visual display and delicious meal to follow, it can be easy to neglect the other senses. Nestled within a linen napkin and secured with a smooth velvet ribbon, dried lavender adds a fragrant note.

Taking on Texture

A simple tablecloth serves as a blank slate, giving way to a spectacular centerpiece. Texture is key when it comes to creating visual interest and avoiding a design that falls flat. In a garland spanning the length of the table, contrasting textures combine as ruffled hydrangeas, airy feathers, and curved branches peek out from the gourds that ground the arrangement.

Star of the Show

Dinnerware depicting the season’s favorite fowl serves as the inspiration for this alfresco affair. A subtle pleated linen highlights the bird’s blue-and-gray feathers, while pumpkins aplenty and surrounding fall foliage emphasize its brighter hues. Look to a new or beloved pattern as your starting point for a pleasing palette. Gilded bamboo-style flatware and a rustic sliced wood charger accented with gold leaf lend both warmth and elegance to this setting.
